Our Assessment: This is a DMW Commercial 1920 pistol with matching numbers on the receiver, rear toggle and takedown lever. It has an 11 ¾” Carbine barrel complete with ramped front sight. The 1920 Commercials were made with just about every barrel length available and often with a variety of “spare” parts. Most of the carbines, with or without forearms, were made with adjustable rear sights and this pistol only has a fixed rear sight on the rear toggle. This pistol is in Excellent condition with about 97% of its original finish remaining, showing only thinning on its edges and a very few marks. This is a fantastic find for the serious Luger collector, as there weren’t very many carbines made and therefore even fewer spare barrels for use as making up pistols from parts. This is going to look great hung on a wall next to an artillery model on one side and a full stocked carbine on the other.
